Westside German Shepherd Rescue

On October 28th, 2011, 60 German Shepherds moved from a dog boarding facility in downtown Los Angeles to the Westside German Shepherd Rescue’s newly built, state of the art, 11,000 sq. ft. structure in Westwood.

This Cape Cod home styled building opens to a boardwalk lined by beachside cabins. The facility was financed by a donation from the Ronald and Catherine Gershman Foundation in order to better serve the animal's rehabilitation and adoption opportunities in California. The new facility was created to foster an innovative approach to animal rescue that will rehabilitate the dogs, rebrand the image of rescued dogs and also promote a new business model that facilitates effective matches for dogs and their new families by using the medical, behavioral and personality profile of the dogs and the lifestyle of the prospective adopters. SpecCeramics was proud to supplied the Kerlite Oaks thin profile tile that was used throughout the facility.
