Cotto D’Este one of the leading Italian producers of through-body porcelain tile, has upgraded their very popular Kerlite Series by adding a 0.5 mm fiberglass mesh to the back of the existing 3 mm tiles, calling the new line ‘Kerliteplus’.

 
This new technology allows the 1/8th inch thick porcelain tiles to be used in both vertical as well as horizontal applications.

Weighing far less than 2.5 Lbs per Sq. ft, Cotto D’Este now produces the Kerliteplus Series in the following sizes:

• 20” x 20”
• 2” x 40”
• 16” x 40”
• 40” x 40”
• 40” x 118” (3.5 feet x 10 feet)

The light weight allows the tiles to be used vertically in all 5 sizes on interior applications and up to 40” x 40” on exterior applications. Kerliteplus is a 100% thru body porcelain stone tile that is defined as ‘impervious’ and is extremely dense. Once the tiles are set on virtually any substrate they provide the same performance as the much thicker and heavier conventional porcelain tiles.   

Kerliteplus (Retrofitting Existing Flooring)

Kerliteplus is easy to clean and can be used on countertops, but is not a seamless application (Grout joints can be as small as 1/16th of an inch). Remodeling/retrofitting any project is ideally suited for the Kerliteplus Series; the thickness of the material allows you to resurface existing floors and walls without having to deal with the tolerances of conventional natural stone and porcelain tile.

Cotto D’Este provides 3 Series of Kerliteplus colors in matching 5/8Th thick porcelain stone tiles:
