City College of San Francisco unveils its $80 million 156,000 Sq ft. state-of-the-art Community Health and Wellness Center.
The three-level athletic and health complex replaces existing facilities currently housing the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
The Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art facility for City College of San Francisco, serves as a gateway to the school's Ocean Avenue campus. Incorporating porcelain stone tiles supplied by the San Francisco office of SpecCeramics Inc., the projects designers K2A Architecture + Interiors Inc., provided a very sustainable material that truly compliments the LEED certified buildings exterior façade as well as interior lobby walls.

The rich gold colored tiles used in the project where Manufactured by the Italian porcelain house of Ceramiche Caesar . The through body, rectified 12” x 24” tiles are extremely dense and provide excellent long term performance. Bob Greer the northern California director of sales for SpecCeramics mentioned that “Over 15,000 square feet of the Quality Quartz series large format porcelain tiles were used on the project”. Designed to consolidate the requirements of physical education programs with those of the men and women's athletic departments, the new center successfully relocates many diverse program elements into one building.

The building provides a spacious new home for team athletics, the dance program, physical education, and martial arts. The Wellness Center also includes an aquatics center, the first in City College's history.
