A Modern Resort Carved Into the Desert

SpecCeramics supplied an amazing laundry list of products for the project

The Golf Resort at Indian Wells is a world class resort destinationLocated in the City of Indian Wells, 20 minutes from Palm Springs and just two hours from Los Angeles, The Golf Resort at Indian Wells is a world class resort destination, nestled amidst breathtaking desert terrain. The Golf Resort at Indian Wells features two championship golf courses.

Affectionately dubbed the IW Club, the new clubhouse which will be the centerpiece of the Indian Wells community also is slated for a January opening. This 53,000 square-foot Douglas Fredrickson-designed edifice will include a golf shop, Callaway Performance Center, sports bar and grill as well as other dining venues, meeting space and a stunning lobby that will make a grand statement.

On-site amenities will include the Fairway Grill, natural grass putting course, practice facilities lighted for evening enjoyment, fire pit, lawn areas and water features. The architecture can best be described as Desert Modern with sandstone walls, large expanses of glass, metal roof, limestone and granite accents and stainless steel detailing.

The new club house interior designed by EMIKO Design Inc., headquartered in Parker, Colorado match the modern grandeur of Fredrickson’s overall vision. The interior design features warm wood detailing, stone floors, leather accents, sculpted carpets and luxurious appointments. Large sliding glass doors in the dining area allow for an effortless transition to the outside patios to take advantage of mountain and golf course views.

Douglas Barnhardt Construction was the general contractor on the project and Palm Desert’s Del’s Flooring Contractors installed the natural stone and tile.

Anaheim, California’s SpecCeramics supplied an amazing array of products for the project, including; SpecSTONE series honed travertine marble, SpecSTONE series honed black and cream marble, ‘Petranova ’ series porcelain tile, ‘Quarry Basics’ series quarry tile, ‘Terra Classic ’ series eco friendly glass tiles and ‘Cantera Stone’ exterior pavers.
