The acquisition comes after two years of turmoil for Chong Partners,
which is one of San Francisco's five largest architecture firms with
200 employees. In March 2005, Chong lost four of its five equity
partners -- Jeff Warner, John Ruffo, Sam Nunes and Bryan Shiles -- who
resigned to start a competing firm, WRNS Studios.
The design grew out of an unusual collaboration involving AC Martin
Partners in association with RMJM Hillier (formerly Hillier
Architecture); Michael Gorman, Dean of Library Services for Fresno
State; and the Table Mountain Rancheria, a federally recognized
American Indian tribe comprising members of the Mono-Chukchansi tribe.
The opening of the Getty Center 10 years ago, co-designed by Pritzker
Prize-award winning architect Richard Meier, ushered in a new era for
Los Angeles, drawing pedigree architects from around the world who
committed to designing high-end and equally high-minded buildings.
For over 3 decades Marmol Compac has provided excellent quartz surface materials in both slabs and tile. Marmol Compac celebrated its 30th anniversary last October, SpecCeramics celebrated their 20th anniversary last May and this month they will be signing into a distribution partnership.
As a member of SpecCeramics’ new Contactor Sales and Service Department, Bruce will be responsible for servicing the company’s extensive tile contractor customer base in California.
SpecCeramics, Inc., a leading provider of high-quality tile and stone products for the commercial buildings, has appointed Brett Spencer to Contractor Representative, Orange County and Inland Empire.

September 2007 marks the beginning of a new department at SpecCeramics dedicated to servicing our California tile contractor customer base.
